Z Festival is a music festival designed for Generation Z, young people who have grown up with the internet and technology. This generation is familiar with video games, computers, smartphones, iPads, iPods, iPhones, and other technological gadgets that are part of their everyday lives.
The first edition of the festival took place in 2011 at Morumbi Stadium in São Paulo on October 8 and 9, featuring artists like Justin Bieber. The second edition in 2012 was held at Arena Anhembi in São Paulo on September 29, with Big Time Rush, The Wanted, and Demi Lovato on the main stage. It also had shows in Rio de Janeiro at HSBC Arena on September 28 and 30.
The fifth edition in 2016 was announced by LivePass, with Demi Lovato replacing Selena Gomez as the headliner due to health issues. Other performers included Anitta, Projota, Tiago Iorc.
