Held in the capital city of Mexico, Mexico City, Corona Capital is a music festival very important within the alternative rock community in Mexico. The festival is now one of Latin America's biggest music events. Many consider the event as Mexico's version of Coachella or Lollapalooza, with big names like Foo Fighters, and Pixies.
The organizers decided to only feature English-speaking artists at the festival because they wanted to make more money. They also organize other festivals like Vive Latino and Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC), where they can promote local talent. This makes Corona Capital the only music festival in the world that exclusively hosts foreign artists, not from the country where the festival is held.
Every year heavy-weight bands are brought to the festival like The Cure, Mother Mother, and The Black Keys.
