Festival d’été de Québec, also known as Quebec City Summer Festival, is a ten-day music and arts festival held annually in Quebec City. It is considered by many the largest outdoor music event in Canada and one of the biggest festivals in North America. It usually takes place over two weekends at the beginning of July, bringing together both local and international artists from various genres such as rock, pop, hip-hop, jazz, comedy, and much more.

The festival was founded in 1968 and has grown steadily in popularity ever since. It attracts more than 1 million visitors each year and features over 300 performances spread across 12 outdoor stages. Some of the major past acts include big-name stars such as Paul McCartney, Elton John, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Coldplay, Metallica, and more.

Creation Purpose:

In 1976, the festival was canceled due to a lack of funding and didn't resume until 1978.
