Mother Mother Biography

From Canada, Mother Mother is an indie rock band famous for singles like "Nobody Escapes." The band was known only as Mother at the beginning of their journey, but after signing to a major record label, the group decided to rename themselves as Mother Mother. On TikTok and social media platforms, Mother Mother got super trendy with their songs being featured on videos and reels over the platforms, leading to increased streams all over their platforms.

The group was formed by guitarist and vocalist Ryan Guldemond aiming to create vocal-driven pop songs. Initially consisting of Ryan, his sister Molly, and Debra-Jean Creelman, the band expanded to include drummer Ali Siadat and bassist Jeremy Page. Still under the name Mother, they released a self-titled album in 2005, garnering attention for their music, all independently.

In 2006, after performing at the music festival Pop Montreal, the group signed with a major record label and rebranded as Mother Mother. Their debut album was reissued as "Touch Up" in 07, which marked the beginning of the band's success. Mother Mother also started to bring more hip-hop influences at that time. Their track "The Stand" charted in Canada, which solidified their position in the music industry. The song "Bright Idea" was featured in Kraft Foods television commercials in 2012.

In 2012, the band released their fourth album, named "The Sticks." In 2014, they switched to a bigger label for their fifth album, "Very Good Bad Thing," which debuted with tracks like "Get Out the Way." The band also engaged in live performances, including the City of Brampton's New Year celebrations in 2016. Following this, their sixth album, "No Culture," released only a year later after Brampton's New Year celebrations, featured the very important single "The Drugs."

In 2022, Mother Mother announced the deluxe edition of "Inside," featuring their new single "Life," a follow-up to their hit "Hayloft," and additional tracks like a piano demo of "Like A Child." Mother Mother once again achieved considerable success with the release of "Cry Christmas" in 2022. Only two years after that, the indie rock band released their ninth album, "Grief Chapter."

Their latest offerings include "Inside" in 2021 and the deluxe version with new songs in 2022, followed by the release of "Grief Chapter" in 2024.
