Three Days Grace Biography

Three Days Grace is a Canadian rock band that originated in Norwood, Ontario, and traces its roots back to 1992 when it was known as Groundswell. The band's musical style is characterized by hard rock, post-grunge elements, and emotionally charged lyrics. Comprised of founding member Neil Sanderson, along with Brad Walst, Barry Stock, and Matt Walst, the band is inspired in the beginning by bands like The Tragically Hip and Our Lady Peace, as well as by the rock scene in Seattle, especially a band called Sunny Day Real Estate.

Emerging on the scene in 2003, Three Days Grace quickly gained traction with their self-titled debut studio album, which set the stage for their subsequent commercial success. Subsequent albums like "One-X" (2006) and "Life Starts Now" (2009) propelled the band to new heights, earning platinum certifications and topping the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart.

Some of Three Days Grace's most famous songs include "I Hate Everything About You," "Animal I Have Become," and "Pain." Albums such as "One-X" and "Transit of Venus" have also left a lasting impact on the rock music landscape.

In 2007, One-X was nominated for Album of the Year at the Juno Awards. The album was super successful, earning triple platinum certifications in both Canada and the US. Three Days Grace spent a lot of time touring in the US and Canada during the second half of 2006 and all of 2007, supporting One-X with Staind. Then, in early 2008, they toured across the US with Seether and Breaking Benjamin.

In 2022, The band went on the Explosions Tour across North America during the summer and fall of 2022. Then, in April and May 2023, they joined Shinedown on their The Revolutions Tour as support. During a show on April 19, 2023, in Huntsville, Alabama, Adam Gontier reunited with the band for a short performance together.
