Shreya Ghoshal Concerts Setlist

Born in Berhampore, India, Shreya Ghoshal is a superstar and singer. Shreya was born in 84 and is extremely known in India for singing in Bollywood movies. She began learning music at age four and started formal classical training at six.

Shreya grew up in Rawatbhata near Kota, Rajasthan, where her father works as an electrical engineer for the Nuclear Power Corporation of India, and her mother is a literature post-graduate. In 1997, her family moved to Mumbai due to her father's work. She continued her education in Anushakti Nagar. She later enrolled at SIES College of Arts, Science, and Commerce in Mumbai, focusing on arts with English as her major.

She became extremely famous at sixteen when she won a famous singing competition in India. But what changed everything was that in that contest, Shreya caught the eye of filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali's mother, Leela Bhansali, who made everything change for Shreya.

Leela Bhansali was impressed by Shreya's performance and called her son to watch. Impressed by her innocent voice, Leela decided to give her a chance to sing for Paro's character in his upcoming film, Devdas from 2002.

Alongside established singers, Shreya sang five songs in the film, including "Bairi Piya" with Udit Narayan, recorded when she was just sixteen. Despite studying for her Higher Secondary Examinations at the time, Shreya's song "Bairi Piya" became a chart-topper.

Shreya received her second National Film Award for her song "Dheere Jalna" in the film Paheli, a duet with Sonu Nigam that blends classical and popular Hindi film music genres.

After singing for films like U Me Aur Hum, Sirf, Ghatothkach, Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic, she recorded another successful song for Singh Is Kinng, in 2008 titled "Teri Ore." It received mixed reviews from critics but earned her a fourth Filmfare Award for Best Female Playback Singer.

Her vocals in the 2010 film Dabangg for the song "Chori Kiya Re Jiya" with Sonu Nigam received praise, with Planet Bollywood highlighting her duet with Nigam as a standout. Shreya also contributed to the English independent film When Harry Tries to Marry, and sang "Aadha Ishq" for Band Baaja Baaraat.

In 2015, Shreya collaborated with A. R. Rahman on the Tamil film I, lending her vocals to the original Tamil duet "Pookkalae Sattru Oyivedungal" with Haricharan. She also recorded its Hindi version "Tu Chale" and Telugu version "Poolane Kunukeyamantaa."

More recently, the Indian superstar explored independent singles with "Nah Woh Main," where she also contributed as a songwriter and composer. She collaborated with an other Indian star on poems, and singing classical tracks.
