Serdar Ortaç Concerts Setlist

Serdar Ortaç is a Turkish singer and songwriter. He was born on February 16, 1970 in Istanbul, Turkey. Ortaç went to vocational high school, studying leveling (a sub-branch of land surveying) and wood turning. He also worked in his father’s shop, who was a plastic molder, in his teens. Despite his working class upbringing, he got into college and got a degree in American culture and literature from Bilkent University. His first job in the music industry was as a radio producer and presenter in Istanbul.

Through his connections in radio, he got to sign a contract with the small record company RAKS before ever making a song. His debut album came out in August 1994, with the title “Aşk İçin”. This pop record became a massive hit, selling around 3 million copies, making it one of the best selling Turkish albums of the decade.

With its success, he got to perform many Serdar Ortaç concert shows across Turkey, while also working on the new Serdar Ortaç album, “Yaz Yağmuru”, which came out in March 1996. In an unexpected turn, he released an EP (Extended Play) that featured songs only in Spanish. He recorded it while doing Serdar Ortaç concert shows over in Mexico. His Spanish EP is titled “Loco Para Amar” (meaning “Crazy for Love” in English), and it came out in 1997.

Since then, Serdar Ortaç released 13 more studio albums, all in Turkish, thus he has 15 in total. The best selling one remained his first, “Aşk İçin” from 1994, with 3 million copies sold. Meanwhile, the latest new Serdar Ortaç album came out in October 2017, with the title “Cımbız”.

The Turkish pop star’s biggest hits to date are “Karabiberim” (1994) “Balım” (2015), “Gıybet” (2016), and “Havalı Yarim” (2017) featuring Yıldız Tilbe. In 2003, he started hosting his successful TV program "Serdar Ortaç'la Hep Beraber".
