Avenged Sevenfold, also known by their fans as a7x, is an influential American heavy metal/alternative metal band that originated in Huntington Beach, California, and was formed in 1999. The band has become synonymous with the metal genre, known for their distinct blend of aggressive guitar riffs, vocals, and powerful stage presence. Comprising members M. Shadows, Synyster Gates, Zacky Vengeance, and Johnny Christ, Avenged Sevenfold has solidified their status as one of the leading figures in the modern metal music scene.
Some of Avenged Sevenfold's most famous songs include "Afterlife," "Bat Country," and "Nightmare." Additionally, their albums such as "City of Evil" and "Avenged Sevenfold" have left a mark on the metal community, demonstrating the band's versatility and evolution throughout their career.
On December 28, 2009, the band's drummer James "The Rev" Sullivan was discovered deceased at his residence at the age of 28. Autopsy findings were inconclusive initially, but on June 9, 2010, it was disclosed that the cause of death was attributed to intoxication.
On February 17, 2010, Avenged Sevenfold announced that they had begun recording in the studio. They enlisted the help of Mike Portnoy, formerly of Dream Theater, to drum for the album in place of The Rev.
On March 14, 2023, following several days of teaser videos, the band unveiled their first single "Nobody" along with its music video. Simultaneously, they made the official announcement that their eighth studio album, titled "Life Is But a Dream...", was scheduled for release on June 2, 2023. Additionally, they revealed the album cover and tracklist.
The band has collaborated with other notable artists, expanding their reach and influence within the music industry, such as Slash (Guns n' Roses) and M. Shadows' appearance in the song "Nothing to Say" from Slash's solo album and Hail to the King featuring a guitar solo by Jason Freese. The band has also shared the stage with other bands, for example, Avenged Sevenfold took the stage at the Rock am Ring and Rock im Park festivals, alongside fellow bands like Alter Bridge, System of a Down, and In Flames.
As of now, the band has put out seven studio albums, one live album/DVD, two compilation albums, and eighteen singles. Their music has sold over 8 million copies globally, earning them several certification awards, including five platinum album awards from the RIAA in their home country. They've also contributed four original tracks to the Call of Duty: Black Ops series, which were later compiled into the 2018 EP Black Reign. Additionally, they were ranked No. 47 on Loudwire's list of Top 50 Metal Bands of All Time.

Avenged Sevenfold has several upcoming performances, including the 2025 Louder Than Life and the Tons of Rock in Oslo, Norway.
it’s the same here in my state in the U.S.A. They only come near me for festivals
Buried alive is easily one of my favourite a7x songs i used to not enjoy it but i love it now
One album in 10 years… haven’t seen you since you opened for Metallica … let’s go
Back in 2012, at the age of 47, I came across my first A7X song, and it remains my absolute favorite. Even now, at 58, my love for this band surpasses any other.
Only doing download in the UK? Cmon guys
part of the contract for being a headliner, no other UK gigs
that's a ridiculous caveat.
well......it is often the headliners that sell the tickets and so they need to protect their sales
I get it, I just don't like it. Suppose they got to grip em somehow
See you in Basel !
Come to australia please
I went to their Chula Vista concert last year!!!
LOL! I was there also!!!
Was everything so perfect :( i wish i could live this moment again
Yes, i thinking they are coming in 2024 again.
The new drummer is absolutely killing it. I saw them live, and the guy is pure talent.
All the a7x's drummers were great, last not forget The Rev
I miss some of the old songs on their setlist
I saw they playing Brompton Cocktail live last year, I think they will eventually bring back some of the OG songs.
Not so many songs from their new album are on the setlist....
That's because the album isn't that good. Fan opinion still matters; many bands seem to ignore this nowadays. However, if the public doesn't like it, the band will eventually need to adapt
Let them do their own thing, for Christ's sake. These guys have been consistently delivering awesome albums for the past 10 years.
I'm not saying anything definitive; it's just my opinion, similar to the opinions of thousands of other fans discussing on Facebook groups. In my view, the new album didn't quite hit the mark, it seems like they tried something experimental, and it just didn't work out well.

Why just festivals and no solo concert? My hopes for a concert in Ireland are pretty low
