Vans Warped Tour Japan is Japan's version of the world-famous festival, Vans Warped Tour. The festival started in the US back in 1995, and is considered to be the largest traveling music festival in the United States and the longest-running touring music festival to date in North America.
After the initial Warped Tour, the shoe company Vans became the main sponsor, and the tour was renamed the Vans Warped Tour. Even though Vans remained the main sponsor and gave its name to the festival, other sponsors also got involved. Sometimes, stages or other parts of the festival were named after these other sponsors.
The tour started with a focus on skate punk. However, as time went on, Vans Warped Tour began to bring out mostly pop punk and metalcore bands. Some hardcore also took part, including bands like The Casualties, and The Unseen.
