Formed by the brothers Jeff and Kevin Saurer in Sacramento, USA, Hippie Sabotage is an electronic/hip-hop duo. Well-known within the chillwave and ambient genres, the brothers quickly gained a very loyal fan base by creating unique and emotive tracks, such as the remix of Tove Lo's "Habits (Stay High)," which has over 1 billion views on YouTube.
The duo has also been very present in the festival culture, being featured in festivals like Lollapalooza, and Austin City Limits, supported by DJs like Zedd and Big Gigantic.
As passionate skateboarders since an early age, the Saurer brothers started making music at just 12 years old. They began by creating beats to go along with their skate videos. Jeff went to music school at the University of California San Diego, and for his final project, he submitted the duo's first EP. This was the first time Hippie Sabotage included Jeff's vocals in their music.
The Saurer brothers started touring in 2015, hitting their first festival at Splash House in June and opening for Cherub that fall. A year later, they dropped their third EP, "Providence," featuring the single "Devil Eyes," which later went viral on TikTok.
In September 2020, Hippie Sabotage released "Red Moon Rising," their first album in several years. The time spent touring gave them the opportunity to create a project that fully represented their creative ideas.
