Gigi D'Alessio, a kid who'd grow up to become one of Italy's biggest music stars. Fast forward to today, and he's got 30 million records under his belt, but getting there? That's where things get interesting. The guy really hit his stride when he stormed the Sanremo Festival in 2000 and 2001, turning heads across Italy. But here's the wild part - during his early days in Naples, from '92 to '97, he was caught in a crazy situation where local Camorra gangsters were basically forcing him to perform at their parties. D'Alessio's got quite the ear for collaboration. He teamed up with Lara Fabian for "Un cuore malato," which had folks outside Italy perking up their ears.
