Since 2002, Modà has been crafting their signature Italian pop sound from the streets of Milan. It all started when Kekko Silvestre crossed paths with Tino Alberti and Enrico Palmosi, forming Pop Doc with Paolo Bovi and playing Northern Italy's club circuit. The name Modà came from a disco in Erba, and soon they were cutting their first demos.
The band really took shape when guitarist Diego Arrigoni joined in 2002, followed by Stefano Forcella on bass and Manuel Signoretto on drums. Their first break came in 2003 with their self-produced EP "Via d'uscita." A lucky live performance caught the eye of Marco Sfratato and connected them with New Music International and their first record deal.
Their 2004 debut "Ti amo veramente" put them on the map, with the title track making waves across Italy. They took a shot at the Sanremo Music Festival in 2005 with "Riesci a innamorarmi," and though they didn't win, it cracked the Italian Singles Chart at number 41.
After some label drama and lineup changes, including Enrico Zapparoli and Claudio Dirani replacing earlier members, Modà hit their stride in 2010. "Sono già solo" became a slow-burning hit, and their Sanremo comeback in 2011 with Emma on "Arriverà" shot them to new heights. Their album "Viva i romantici" topped charts for six straight weeks and went diamond, moving over 400k copies.
Since then, the successful sell-out shows throughout Europe and the US have come along, selling out Italy's biggest stadiums, dropping hits such as "Gioia", "Passione Maledetta", and "Testa o croce." Today, the band consists of Silvestre's vocals, the guitars of Arrigoni and Zapparoli, Forcella on bass, and Dirani on drums. Modà keeps pushing on, more recently with "Buona Fortuna – Parte Prima", getting ready for another shot at the Sanremo contest in 2025.
