Concerty unveils the spicy truth behind the lyrics of Meat Loaf's iconic ballad, 'I’d Do Anything For Love'.
Meat Loaf

If you are into Meat Loaf’s music, you might have noticed that there was something off with the lyrics of "I’d Do Anything For Love." (which by the way, is one of his most played songs during concerts according to our data).

Well, finally, Meat Loaf has admitted the truth about the song, and yes, there was something off, we've all missed it, and it was right at our faces. He's finally revealed what he meant by "but I won’t do that." It was a big secret, and now we know what Meat Loaf won't do for love.

"I was with a very nice lady back then, but things got a bit boring in the bedroom department, and so she wanted to introduce a strap on and my reluctance to be penetrated by a foreign object launched one of the most romantic songs ever. (…) It was from my very rational horror at being propositioned in such a manner that I drew inspiration to muse on the meaning of love and how far one was willing to go for it." stated the poor man.

Meat Loaf was quick to clarify that he wasn't totally against "butt stuff" in general. However, he felt that to emphasize his stance against strap-ons, he needed to craft a grand and dramatic love song.

"Once she heard the song, I’ll never forget it, she said ‘I get it now’ and that’s why she stopped walking around the house 24/7 wearing the diamond-encrusted strap on," concluded Meat Loaf.

Now if you ever catch yourself listening to this beautiful, romantic, exciting song again in your life, we hope you remember the truth behind it.

And we hope you remember who told you the truth about it.

Cheers!
