Tyga Biography

Born in Compton, USAMichael Ray Stevenson, also known by his stage name, Tyga, is a rapper well-known all over the music universe. From having one of the biggest comebacks in the rap industry to dating Kylie Jenner and having millions of streams on Spotify and YouTube, Tyga became a very important figure in the rap community alongside Chris Brown, The Game, and others.

Tyga debuted in 2008 under Lil Wayne's Young Money Entertainment. 4 years later, his first big album came out, "Careless World: Rise of the Last King," which later reached number four on the Billboard 200 chart. Tyga didn't have an easy childhood, in the notorious neighborhood of Compton, everything was difficult. But before Tyga, other rap stars came from the same place and made it big in the music industry, so it served as a huge inspiration to him. Rappers like Dr. Dre from NWA, famous for the single "Straight Outta Compton," and Kendrick Lamar also came from there.

Tyga's inspirations were none other than rap legends like Eminem, Lil Wayne, and others. Also artists that paved the way for him.

In 2013 something really important to his career happened. The rapper released a new song called "Throw It Up" with DJ Mustard. Around that time, it came out that he was busy making two new mixtapes, "Black Thought 3" and "Well Done 4," and also an album called "The Gold Album." Then, later that year, Tyga debuted another song called "Wait for a Minute" featuring Justin Bieber, which was a huge success in the iTunes era.

After a few controversies with Young Money Entertainment, Tyga signed a deal with Kanye West, with GOOD Music imprint, under the aegis of Def Jam Recordings.

Even though Tyga is a rapper, throughout time he proved to the public that he is a very smart businessman. In 2020, Tyga teamed up with businessman Robert Earl to start a virtual kitchen brand named Tyga Bites. This brand operates by using the kitchens of already existing restaurants to make special menu items, like boneless chicken wings, exclusively for delivery.

"Rack City," "Taste," and "Faded," are songs that made Tyga's name, and today has millions of streams on all platforms. As for his albums, "Careless World: Rise of the Last King" and "Hotel California," are some of the albums that brought him to mainstream.
