Tate McRae, born Tate Rosner McRae on July 1, 2003, is a singer, dancer, and actress from Calgary, Canada. She initially started as a ballet dancer at the age of six, studying at the Alberta Ballet. However, she gained prominence in the music industry as a singer-songwriter. Tate McRae's music genre can be described as pop with influences from electronic and indie-pop styles.

Tate McRae rose to fame at the age of thirteen when she became a finalist on the reality television show "So You Think You Can Dance." Her performances caught the attention of audiences worldwide. Some of Tate McRae's most famous songs include "You Broke Me First," "Vicious," and "That Way." In 2020, she released her debut EP titled "All The Things I Never Said." The primary single, "Tear Myself Apart," was collaboratively written by Billie Eilish and Finneas O'Connell. Alongside "All My Friends Are Fake," it has garnered an impressive 10 million streams online. The single, "Stupid," also achieved 4 million Spotify streams in December 2019, securing a spot on charts in Ireland and Canada.

On April 16, 2021, McRae dropped the track "You" in collaboration with Regard and Troye Sivan. Following this, on May 8, 2021, she delivered a global virtual show titled "Too Young to Be Sad," earning praise from Ali Shutler of pop culture blog NME, who rated it four stars out of five. The show was lauded for its slick, impressive, and consistently spectacular performance, showcasing pop star ambition. In the same month, McRae secured her first endorsement deal with Essentia water. She also earned a nomination for the Social Star Award at the IHeartRadio Music Awards and showcased "You" alongside Regard and Troye Sivan on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

McRae also made a notable appearance on Blackbear's track "U love U." Additionally, she showcased her talent by performing "Lie to Me" at the 2021 Juno Awards alongside Ali Gatie and released the collaborative track "Working" with Khalid. By August 2021, McRae graced the cover of Hunger magazine. The recognition continued in October 2021 when she earned a spot on Billboard's 21 under 21 list and People's One to Watch list for 2021.

More recently, McRae received recognition with five Juno Award nominations and was announced as a performer for the show. In March of the same year, she collaborated with MCM Worldwide for their Spring/Summer 2023 Campaign, where she performed "Uh Oh" and "She's All I Wanna Be." On September 15, 2023, she unveiled "Greedy," signaling the beginning of a new musical chapter in her career.
