PLK Biography
From writing lyrics at nine in Paris's 14th arrondissement to becoming France's best-known rap voice, PLK's path is deeply rooted in his multicultural past. Born to a Polish father (whose family fled during World War II) and a Corsican mother, he took his childhood nickname "mini Polak" and made it a strong artistic persona, embracing his Polish heritage proudly in his stage name.
By age 13, he wasn't writing anymore - he was creating his own beats. His start with La Confrérie and then Panama Bende later on in his life established his style, but it's what came after on his own that blew up. In 2017, being signed to Panenka Music (following an establishment of connection with Fonky Flav' in 1995), PLK dropped mixtapes "Ténébreux" and "Platinum", proving he could hold his own in France's saturated rap scene.
He turned collaborations into his strength, teaming up with French titans SCH and Nekfeu and even bridging both of his cultures by collaborating with Polish rapper Paluch. His versatility even landed him on the "Taxi 5" soundtrack with "Lambo", which includes Mister V.
When his debut album "Polak" was released in 2018, it was not just a rap debut - but a platinum-selling statement of identity and belonging. His second "Mental" achieved even more chart success in 2019 and solidified him as the new face of French hip-hop's avant-garde.
