Motionless In White Biography

Formed in Scranton, USA, Motionless in White is a metalcore band. The current lineup includes lead vocalist Chris "Motionless" Cerulli, guitarists Ryan Sitkowski and Ricky "Horror" Olson, drummer Vinny Mauro, and bassist Justin Morrow. Cerulli is the sole remaining original member. They named their band after the Eighteen Visions song "Motionless and White."

Initially performing as "One Way Ticket" and later as "When Breathing Stops", they settled on their current name on New Year's Day of 2005. Inspired by bands like Poison the Well and Slipknot, they released their first self-distributed demo in 2005. After adding new members and shifting Chris Motionless to lead vocals, they released their EP "The Whorror" in 2007 under Masquerade Recordings/Warner Music Group.

The group followed with their debut full-length album, "When Love Met Destruction", in 2008 under Fearless Records after catching attention on the Warped Tour. The band underwent lineup changes, welcoming Ryan Sitkowski as guitarist, and released their EP in 2009, featuring the single "Ghost in the Mirror" with an accompanying music video.

In 2010, Motionless in White recorded their debut full-length album, "Creatures", with Andrew Wade. The first single "Abigail," was followed by music videos for "Abigail", "Creatures", "Immaculate Misconception", and a live video for "Puppets (The First Snow)". "Creatures" was released in 2010, reaching No. 175 on the Billboard Top 200 and No. 6 on the Heatseekers chart.

In 2014, Motionless in White announced a headlining tour with The Plot in You, Like Moths to Flames, For the Fallen Dreams, and The Defiled. After the tour, they would enter the studio to work on their next album. They were also set to play the Vans Warped Tour and cover "Du hast" by Rammstein for "Punk Goes 90s Vol. 2". Drummer Brandon Richter left the band but on good terms. Chris Motionless shared that recording their third album was easier and aimed to combine the aggressiveness of "Creatures" with a consistent style.

In 2016, they released the single "570" and later "Graveyard Shift." Something curious was that the band let the fans designed the album's artwork. Keyboardist Josh Balz left in 2017 to focus on his oddities parlor. They released singles "Eternally Yours," "LOUD (Fuck It)," and "Rats" before the album drop. The band toured the U.S. and Europe with In This Moment and headlined The Graveyard Shift Tour with Miss May I and The Amity Affliction. In 2018, bassist Devin "Ghost" Sola left due to mental health, and TJ Bell filled in for the Warped Tour.

In 2018, Chris Motionless announced a new record for 2019. The band toured with Warped Tour, reuniting with TJ Bell after Devin Sola's departure. Justin Morrow from Ice Nine Kills joined as their bassist for the remaining shows. In 2019, they toured with Alice Cooper, Halestorm, and co-headlined with Atreyu. Justin Morrow then joined full-time. They announced their album "Disguise," released on June 7, 2019, and released singles "Disguise," "Brand New Numb," and "Undead Ahead 2: The Tale of the Midnight Ride."
