From Sleep of Right to Ethereal to Lacuna Coil - third time's the charm for this Milan metal powerhouse that's been defying genre boundaries since 1994. When Andrea Ferro and Marco Coti Zelati started jamming together, they probably didn't imagine they'd end up selling over two million albums worldwide. The band went from an underground gothic metal band from Italy to topping charts all over the world and creating unique projects like the 2012 album "Dark Adrenaline," which reached number 15 on the Billboard 200.
Their big breakthrough? 2002's "Comalies" - the album that turned into Century Media's golden child and put them on Hollywood's radar with tracks landing in movies and video games. By the time "Karmacode" dropped in 2006, they were sharing stages with Rob Zombie and making history as the first female-fronted band to co-headline Ozzfest. Through lineup changes (goodbye to both Cristianos - Migliore and Mozzati - hello Ryan Folden) and evolving sounds, they've kept pushing forward. Their albums climbed higher on Billboard, with "Shallow Life" cracking the Top 20 and "Dark Adrenaline" reaching number 15.
Not bad for a band that started in Milan's underground scene. Later, by 2013, guitarist Cristiano Migliore and drummer Cristiano Mozzati retired, with Ryan Folden joining the band. In 2022, they announced "Comalies XX," a reimagined version of their 2002 album "Comalies." They also contributed a song, "Never Dawn," to the board game "Zombicide: White Death."
Two years later, in 2024, they released the single "In the Mean Time," featuring Ash Costello, and announced a UK and Ireland tour.
