From Turin, Italy, Luigino Celestino di Agostino, also known by his stage name, Gigi D'Agostino, is an Italo disco musician and composer, known for a long journey contributing to the Italian music scene. From making side hustles as a DJ at an early age to becoming the resident DJ at a major club in Italy, Gigi's journey to success was full of struggles and sweat. One of his most famous songs is "Bla Bla Bla," considered to be a major hit worldwide and very important for the disco genre.
Mentored by Gianfranco Bortolotti, Italo house producer, Gigi D'Agostino released "Noise Makers Theme," becoming one of the pioneers of the Mediterranean Progressive Dance. Gigi had the brilliant idea of transforming club tacks into mainstream hits that would play on the radio. By 96, Gigi's single "FLY" topped sales in Italy.
The DJ and producer's debut album, "Gigi D'Agostino," was a major success and sold over 60k copies, this was because of Gigi's very unique style at that time, evolving into a melodic style of Italo dance music. By 99, his album "L'Amour Toujours" was a major hit in Europe and was playing everywhere, from house parties to clubs, and on the radio.
After selling over a million copies of "The Riddle" in 2000, Gigi won "Best DJ-Producer" at the Red Bull Awards and released "Super" with Albertino. In 2006, "Noisemaker Hard" brought a different kind of music, and was followed by "Lento Violento ...e altre storie."
Gigi D'Agostino was so involved in the electronic music community in Italy, that from 2005 to 2010, in a period of 5 years, he hosted radio shows on Italian Radio m2o, featuring DJ sets and remixes.
