BABYMETAL Concerts Setlist

Formed in Tokyo, Japan, and known for representing a very particular and original genre, BABYMETAL is a kawaii metal band that created a unique style by mixing choreography, heavy metal, and J-pop. The band is formed by Suzuka Nakamoto, known by the stage name Su-metal, Moa Kikuchi, or Moametal, and Momoko Okazaki, Momometal.

BABYMETAL was formed in 2010 and had its first live appearance in the same year, with Sakura Gakuin's first solo concert, at the Sakura Gakuin Festival 2010. The band's first CD single was a collaboration with Kiba of Akiba, titled "Babymetal / Kiba of Akiba."

Two years later, in 2012, BABYMETAL performed at Japan's Summer Sonic Festival, breaking a record and becoming the youngest act ever to perform at the festival. Later that year, the kawaii metal band performed outside of Japan for the first time at the 2012 Anime Festival Asia in Singapore.

BABYMETAL has a large fanbase in Japan and attracts both metal fans and pop music fans. But the band's international presence is also unquestionable. They have released several albums and singles that have charted in the top 10 of the Oricon charts, which are major music charts in and outside of Japan, and in some cases, hitting the highest-ever entry for an album in the UK charts for a Japanese act.

As for the band's most famous songs, "Karate" and "Gimme Chocolate!!" are pure representations of kawaii metal. BABYMETAL also made their U.S. television debut, performing "Gimme Chocolate!!" on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. The band was added as a character skin in the Wii U video game Super Mario Maker in 2016.

In 2022, Sabaton announced that BABYMETAL would perform at their shows for the European leg of their world tour alongside Lordi.
