Born in Stockholm, Sweden, Alessandro Renato Rodolfo Lindblad, also known by his stage name, Alesso, is a DJ and producer very famous within the EDM universe. He has worked with many artists, including Tove Lo, Calvin Harris, Katy Perry, Stray Kids, and many others. Alesso has also performed at major music festivals like Coachella. In 2012, MTV named Alesso one of the "EDM Rookies to Watch." He was ranked 13th on DJ Magazine's 2015 list of the top 100 DJs and 20th in 2016. His debut album, "Forever," was released in 2015.
Alesso started playing piano at age 7 but became interested in electronic music at 16. He first gained recognition with his debut EP in 2010. In early 2011, Sebastian Ingrosso of Swedish House Mafia contacted Alesso to work together, introduced him to DJing, and helped him produce tracks.
By 2013, Alesso became a sensation within music festivals all over the world, while at the same time, he released a remix of OneRepublic's "If I Lose Myself," which was nominated for a Grammy and quickly gained nearly a million listens on SoundCloud.
Another big hit by Alesso was the collaboration with Calvin Harris and Hurts for the song "Under Control," which garnered 88 million views. Also in 2013, he achieved his highest ranking on the list of the top 100 DJs, reaching number 13.
In 2017, Hailee Steinfeld released her song "Let Me Go," a collaboration with Alesso. Later that year, Alesso released his single "Is That for Me," a collaboration with Brazilian singer Anitta. Another big hit by the DJ and a new experiment of him exploring Latino genres.
In 2018, Alesso wrapped up his year with a New Year's Eve performance at Miami's Fontainebleau Resort. He shared the headline with Colombian reggaeton star J Balvin, performing together at the venue's poolside.
