King Gnu Biography

Formed in 2013 in Tokyo, JapanKing Gnu is a rock band widely known for performing the opening theme song "Boy" for the anime adaptation of Ranking of Kings, and the songs "Ichizu" (一途, "The Only Way") and "Sakayume" (逆夢, "Contradictory Dream") which were featured in the Jujutsu Kaisen 0 anime film adaptation. Since their debut, King Gnu has been noticed for their one-of-a-kind music style that mixes deep lyrics, and new ways of rock music.

Even though the band debuted in 2013, 2017 was the year that they caught the public's attention, when they played at the Fuji Rock Festival in 2017, and a year later, in the 2018 edition of the event.

An interesting fact is that the band changed its name along the way. Mrs.Vinci was their first name, and later they changed their name to Srv.Vinci. Their initial track was "ABUKU(泡)," Then, in 2017, they changed their name again, this time to King Gnu.

Their third album, "Ceremony," which came out on January 15, 2020, was a big hit all over Japan. It reached the number one spot on both the Japanese Oricon Albums chart and the Billboard Japan Albums chart.

In November 2022, they had one of the biggest concerts of their career. They played two concerts over two days at the Tokyo Dome, and more than 100k fans showed up to see them.
