Glass Animals is an indie rock band formed in 2010. Debuting with the album "Zaba" in 2014, the band was formed by the members Dave Bayley, Drew MacFarlane, Edmund Irwin-Singer, and Joe Seaward. Glass Animals' second album won UK Album of the Year. The band also went viral on TikTok multiple times with their music, which led them to the top charts in the U.S.
The band was formed when all four members met while in school in Oxford. Dave Bayley bonded with guitarist Drew MacFarlane over their shared experiences, later the duo was introduced to bassist Edmund Irwin-Singer and drummer Joe Seaward. Before debuting with the album "Zaba", the indie rock band released the EP "Leaflings", in 2012.
By 2016, "How to Be a Human Being", was released inspired by stories from people Bayley met on tour. In 2018, drummer Joe Seaward, unfortunately, was seriously injured in a cycling accident, leading to the cancellation of their tour dates for the rest of the year. But quickly, one year later the band was back on the road and released "Tokyo Drifting" with Florida rapper Denzel Curry.
In 2020, "Heat Waves" became a hit, topping the charts and featuring in FIFA 21. The song also went extremely viral on TikTok and Instagram Reels, and it is used by many content creators in short videos. By 2024, they announced the single "Creatures in Heaven", along with the album title and release date. That same year, the band went on a world tour with a total of 42 concerts.
