Started in Milan's hip-hop scene, Matteo Professione linked up with Ghali to form Troupe D'Elite back in 2012. Dropping their self-titled EP under Tanta Roba and following up with "Il mio giorno preferito" on Honiro Records showed promise, but Ernia had bigger dreams. After the crew split, he hit London to switch things up. Coming back to Italy in 2017, he dropped "Come uccidere un usignolo" - clever nod to "To Kill a Mockingbird" there. But it was "68" that really put him on the map, shooting straight to number one on Italy's album charts.

Then 2020 happened, and "Gemelli" changed everything. Another chart-topper, but this time with "Superclassico" going six times platinum - that's the kind of hit that turns rising stars into household names.
