Distant Biography
Distant is a band from Rotterdam, The Netherlands, and Bratislava, Slovakia, that emerged onto the music scene in 2014 with a unique blend of deathcore and technical death metal. Since then, they've become known for their unyielding and impactful style in the hardcore music domain.
Their signature sound, characterized by intense instrumentation and raw vocals, has struck a chord with hardcore and metal enthusiasts worldwide, elevating them to prominence in the global metal music scene. Distant's refusal to conform to genre norms and their determination to deliver uncompromising performances have played a pivotal role in their rising influence and recognition.
Since their start in 2014, Distant has made waves with their debut EP "Slither" in 2015, followed by the acclaimed release "Tsukuyomi" in 2017, and the diverse journey of their full-length album "Tyrannotophia" in 2019.
Not content with conventional boundaries, Distant pushes the envelope further with their epic project "Aeons Of Oblivion," a multi-part, hour-plus saga that expands upon the world introduced in "Tyrannotophia." Accompanied by the novel "The Rise of Tyrannotophia," released in 2021, the band delves deep into their fictional universe, drawing inspiration from dark ages and occult lore.
