Born in Salvador, Brazil, Diogo Álvaro Ferreira Moncorvo, also known by his stage name, Baco Exu do Blues, is a rapper widely known in Brazil. The rap genius gained fame with his 2017 album "Esú". Known for his raw lyricism and strong metaphors, his work covers themes like love, sex, power, religion, and society. He was nominated for a Latin Grammy in 2022 for best Portuguese language Rock or Alternative album.

Baco gained popularity with his 2016 track "Sulicídio," created with Diomedes Chinaski, which criticized the dominance of Brazilian rap in the Southeast, advocating for visibility in the Northeast and North. In 2017, he won the New Artist award and Song of the Year for "Te Amo Disgraça" at the Multishow Brazilian Music Awards. His 2018 album "Bluesman" was ranked among the 50 best Brazilian albums of the year by Rolling Stone Brasil.

In 2017, Baco released his first solo album, "Esú." The album explores themes of faith, death, love, literature, photography, and cinema, drawing inspiration from Brazilian authors and artists, and the film "The Skin I Live In."

Baco was later nominated for the 2017 Prêmio APCA in New Artist, Song of the Year, and Track of the Year categories. "Te Amo Disgraça" won Best Brazilian Rap Song of the Year by Genius and "Esú" was ranked the 5th best album of the year by Rolling Stone Brasil.
