Lewis Mark Capaldi is a Scottish singer and songwriter. He was born on October 7, 1996 in Glasgow, United Kingdom. When he was 4 years old, the young Lewis sang on stage during a family vacation in France. Ever since he yearned to be a performer. He learnt to play the guitar at age 9, and entered the reality-talent show Britain’s Got Talent at age 13, but never made it to the second round.
At the age of 18, he got to travel and perform as a singer around Scotland with a small group of students as part of a program sponsored by The Scottish Music Centre. He was discovered by music manager Ryan Walter the same year. Walter found a recording Capaldi made with his iPhone and uploaded to the audio sharing site Soundcloud. In 2016, Cappaldi eanred an HND in music from the New College Lanarkshire, Motherwell.
In 2017, his debut single “Bruises” went viral on Spotify, receiving 28 million hits within a few days of release. Also, in 2018, he got to go on a Lewis Capaldi concert tour in the US, opening for the German rock band “Milky Chance” on their "Blossom Tour".
Capaldi's debut album came out in May 2019, with the title “Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent”. It became a massive hit, topping the OCC chart in the United Kingdom, while also reaching the #20 spot on the famous Billboard 200 chart in the US. This is the only full studio record the Scottish pop star has put out so far. There is no word yet about a new Lewis Capaldi album coming out in the near future. However, he has been releasing new singles with some regularity.
Capaldi's biggest hits to date are the aforementioned “Bruises” (2017), “Someone You Loved” (2019), “Hold Me While You Wait” (2019), and “Before You Go” (also 2019). Check where the next Lewis Capaldi concert is playing near you on our page above.
