Im Na-yeon, better known by his stage mononym Nayeon, is a South Korean pop singer. She was born on September 22, 1995 in Seoul, South Korea. At age 15, Nayeaon was signed by JYP Entertainment (JYPE) as a model after she turned up at one of their open auditions. The entertainment company also tried to launch her music career: they wanted her to be a part of a proposed girl K-pop group "6mix". However, that group never put out any music. In the meantime, Nayeon appeared on the teen comedy-drama "Dream High 2" in 2012.

In 2015, at age 20, she competed on the reality show "Sixteen" where the winning contestants got to be part of a new girl K-pop group "Twice". Nayeon did win, thus her music career started at last. Twice, consisting of 9 girl members, put out their debut EP “The Story Begins” in October 2015. It became a success in South Korea and a moderate hit worldwide. However, Nayeon’s star began to stand out among the girls in the group early on. In 2017, she was found to be the #6 biggest idol in South Korea by the major polling firm Gallup Korea.

The Twice debut album, titled “Twicetagram”, came out in October 2017. Since then, the girl group has released 6 more albums, thus they have 7 in total. The best selling among them so far has been “Formula of Love: O+T=<3” from November 2021, which sold over 900,000 copies in South Korea alone. Meanwhile, their latest project is titled “Celebrate”, which was released in July 2022. In 2017, she went on her first international Nayeon concert tour with her group Twice.

Twice’s biggest hits to date are “TT” (2016), “Likey” (2017), and “What is Love?” (2018).

Nayeon is still a member of the successful K-pop group Twice. However, she did release her debut single as a solo artist, “Pop!”, in June 2022. A new Nayeon album is also reportedly in the works. This gave rise to speculations that she may soon leave the band altogether. There is no word on whether or not a solo Nayeon concert is taking place any time soon.
