Laura Pausini Biography

Born in Faenza, Italy, Laura Pausini is a pop singer very famous across Europe. Laura's rise to success occurred in 93 with the song. Her debut album sold two million copies globally, followed by her second album in 94, selling three million copies. As of today, Laura has released 15 studio albums and performed in many different languages. She has also been a coach on The Voice in Mexico and Spain.

Despite not reaching the final stage at the Castrocaro Festival, she later tied for first place in the Sanremo competition. Unfortunately, Laura Pausini was unable to compete in the Sanremo gig one year later despite the win. In 87, Laura Pausini released her first demo album titled "I sogni di Laura," a mix of covers and original songs to promote her live performances.

Laura Pausini's career took off when Italian producer Angelo Valsiglio introduced her to manager Marco Marati after noticing her very natural talent. This event led to Laura's first recording contract, which also led her to fame after winning the 43rd Sanremo Music Festival in 93.

In 94, Laura performed "Strani amori" at the Sanremo, marking the release of her album "Laura" which later sold 3 million copies. The same year, she launched the album "Laura Pausini," which she sang in Spanish, becoming Spain's best-selling artist and receiving the "Globo de Platino" for bringing Italian culture to spotlight and promoting it.

In 2000, Laura released the album "Tra te e il mare," featuring singles like "Il mio sbaglio più grande." The album had a song called "Per vivere," which has a very curious and interesting story behind it, the album was inspired by a homeless child she met when she was in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

In 2006, Laura Pausini launched the album "Io canto / Yo canto," which had covers of famous and trendy Italian pop-rock music. Laura expressed in the liner notes that these songs hold a special place in her heart, and were some kind of inspiration to her when she was rising to success.

In 2013, Laura Pausini commemorated her twenty-year career anniversary by releasing a medley of "La solitudine."

In early 2023, Warner Music recognized Laura as the most acclaimed Italian singer globally, having performed nearly a thousand concerts. She also held a charity concert in Rome. Later in 2023, she was honored as the Latin Recording Academy Person of the Year, becoming the first Italian to receive this prestigious accolade.

Throughout Laura's extremely successful career, she has amassed a collection of music awards both in Italy and internationally, including a Grammy Award in 2006 for Best Latin Pop Album. The pop star also holds prestigious titles like Commander Order of Merit of the Italian Republic and World Ambassador of Emilia Romagna.

Laura is also always supporting causes, like her participation in the London concert for supporting women's empowerment.
