Luke Bryan Biography

Thomas Luther "Luke" Bryan is an American country singer and songwriter. He was born on July 17, 1976 in Leesburg, Georgia. Bryan grew up in rural Georgia on his father’s peanut farm. Sadly, he lost his older brother in a car accident. This delayed his plans to move to Nashville, Tennessee to pursue a career in country music, as his family wanted him to be home to deal with the tragedy. So, he stayed and got a degree in business administration from Georgia Southern University. After college, he eventually did make it to Nashville to get started on his country music journey.

He originally got jobs writing music for other artists, such as Travis Tritt and Billy Currington. However, after a while, he started producing his own music as well, releasing his debut EP (Extended Play) in 2006. The single “All My Friends Say” on it eventually became a hit in 2007.

Bryan released his debut album “I’ll Stay Me” in August 2007 through Capitol Records. It became quite a hit, peaking at the #2 spot on Billboard’s country music charts, while also reaching the #24 spot on the overall Billboard 200 chart. In 2013, he went on his first nationwide Luke Bryan concert tour called "Dirt Road Diaries Tour".

Since then, Bryan has released 6 more studio albums, thus he has 7 in total. The best selling one among them so far has been his fourth album, “Crash My Party” from August 2013. It sold over 2.6 million copies in the US alone. Meanwhile, the latest new Luke Bryan album is titled “Born Here Live Here Die Here” which came out in August 2020.

Luke Bryan’s biggest hits to date are “Do I” (2009), “I Don’t Want This Night to End” (2011), “Play it Again” (2013), “Huntin’, Fishin’ and Lovin’ Every Day” (2015). He was also featured on the 2014 hit song by the country music duo Florida Georgia Line “This Is How We Roll”. He won the Academy of Country Music’s prestigious “Entertainer of the Year” award 5 times. He’s just one win away from tying Garth Brooks’ record 6.
